BOYS BASKETBALL: Eagles fall to Cardinals

A second-half rally ran out of steam for the Windom boys basketball team Friday as the Eagles fell 96-84 to Luverne at Windom.

The Cardinals began pulling away late in the opening half, ending the half with a 15-3 run. The Eagles were able to cut the deficit to five points late in the second half before the Cardinals pulled away in the closing minutes.

Luverne scorched the Eagles from the field in the game, shooting 58% from the field and 60% from two-point range. The Cardinals also held a massive 46-24 edge on the glass.

Job Ogeka led the Eagles with a career-high 20 points. Charles Erickson scored 18, Drew Rothenberger had 14, Elliot Serreyn scored 13 and Eli Lund added 12 in the loss.
