GIRLS BASKETBALL: Wolverines topple Coyotes

Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey overcame a chilly night from the field Thursday to claim a 44-29 victory over Heron Lake-Okabena-Fulda at Mt. Lake.

The Wolverines shot just over 21% from the field for the game, but were able to capitalize on 36 Coyote turnovers, which led to nearly half of the Wolverines’ points for the game.

Julia Brinkman led the Wolverines with 10 points. Annika Brinkman added nine points and six steals in the win.

RRC 19-23 = 42
CM 31-33 = 64

Red Rock Central struggled from the field and struggled controlling the ball Thursday, leading to a 64-42 loss to Cedar Mountain in Morgan.

The Cougars held the Falcons to 25% shooting for the game. Cedar Mountain also forced 25 Falcon turnovers.

Taylor Lang led the Falcons with 13 points. Alyssa Cowan added seven points in the loss.
