TUESDAY GIRLS BASKETBALL: Wolverines, Falcons fall

MLAC 18-30 = 48
AE 39-27 = 66

Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey struggled to generate offense in the lane Tuesday, falling 66-48 to Adrian-Ellsworth at Adrian.

The Dragons held the Wolverines to two two-point field goals in the opening half, cutting off the driving lanes for the Wolverine offense and forcing MLAC to shoot from the outside. That allowed the Dragons to open a 21-point halftime advantage.

MLAC tried to battle back in the second half, but the Dragons were able to continue attacking the lane and went 10-of-11 from the line in the second half as a team.

Kylie Phommachan led the Wolverines with 12 points in the loss. Julia Brinkman scored 11 and Annika Brinkman added 10.

RRC 21-16 = 37
MCC 29-33 = 62

Murray County Central broke things open in the second half Tuesday night, shutting Red Rock Central down over the final 18 minutes to claim a 62-37 win at Slayton.

The Rebels held an eight-point halftime lead, but held the Falcons to five field goals in the second half and 13 field goals for the game.

Taylor Lang led the Falcons with 11 points in the loss.
