GIRLS HOCKEY: Eagles win in overtime

The Windom Area girls hockey team withstood a barrage of scoring chances and made the most of its own offensive opportunities, claiming a 2-1 overtime victory over Minnesota River at the Windom Arena.

The Eagles were outshot 52-26 for the game and killed off nine power play chances by the Bulldogs in the game.

Trailing 1-0 in the second period, the Eagles tied the game on an unassisted goal from Marissa Becker.

The Bulldogs put on a ton of pressure in the third period, firing 24 shots on goal, but Eagle goalie Fiona Robillard turned each aside, keeping the game tied at 1-1.

Then, at the 4:25 mark of overtime, Becker and Ella Dockter broke out on a two-on-one break, with Becker feeding Dockter for the game-winning goal.

Robillard finished with 51 saves in the victory.
