MLAC 20-37-05 = 62
RTR 34-23-10 = 67

Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey mounted a furious second-half rally to force overtime Thursday, but ran out of gas in the extra period, falling 67-62 to Russell-Tyler-Ruthton in Tyler.

The Wolverines trailed by 14 at halftime, but caught fire in the second half. MLAC hit four three-pointers and went 11-of-13 from the line as a team to rally to tie the game at 57 at the end of regulation.

But in the extra period, RTR held the Wolverines to a single three-pointer and the Wolverines went cold from the stripe, going 2-of-7.

Annika Brinkman led the Wolverines with 21 points. Julia Brinkman scored 15. Ella Peters and Alexis Romsdahl each added 10 points.

WWG 44-29 = 73
RRC 15-09 = 24

Red Rock Central wasn’t able to click on offense and Westbrook-Walnut Grove had a hot night from outside Thursday, cruising to a 73-24 victory over the Falcons at Lamberton.

The Falcons had just eight field goals in the game and shot 19% from the field in the loss.

Meanwhile, WWG drained 12 three-pointers and had 22 points off 22 Falcon turnovers in the game.

The Chargers’ hot outside shooting staked them to a commanding 29-point halftime lead. WWG then held the Falcons to nine second-half points.
