County reviews road, bridge plans

At Tuesday’s meeting, Cottonwood County Commissioners heard an update on the county’s five-year road and bridge plan from Highway Engineer Nick Klisch.

Among items planned for 2024 are a bridge replacement on County Road 14, as well as bridge replacements in Ann, Midway and Rosehill townships.

For road projects, the county will resurface County Road 3 between County Roads 4 and 2, as well as from County Road 1 to the Watonwan County line.

The county also plans to stabilize the gravel on County Road 8 from County Road 3 north to Highway 30.

Anticipated projects for 2025 include replacement of the County Road 15 bridge by the Windom Country Club, stabilizing gravel on County Road 15 between County Roads 5 and 7, resurfacing County Road 15 between County Roads 5 and 13 and resurfacing a portion of County Road 17 east of Windom. Two bridge replacements in Westbrook Township also are planned.

More from Tuesday’s meeting appears in the Jan. 3 print and e-editions of the Citizen.
