BOYS BASKETBALL: Eagles hold off Panthers

The Windom Eagle boys basketball team shook off a rough start to the second half Wednesday afternoon, rallying down the stretch to claim a 92-84 win over Tracy-Milroy-Balaton in the opening round of the Windom Holiday Classic.

The Eagles held a 12-point halftime lead, but TMB quickly erased the deficit, starting the second half with a 13-0 run. But Windom regained its footing, reclaiming the lead before sealing the win late.

The Eagles hit 18 three-pointers as a team and shot 41% from three-point range, helping seal the win. The Eagles also made the most of 17 offensive rebounds, outscoring TMB 18-7 on second chances in the game.

Drew Rothenberger led the Eagles with 29 points. Carter Rossow added 20 points, including six three-pointers. Elliot Serreyn finished with 16 points and 17 rebounds and Charles Erickson added 12 pints and 11 assists.
