BOYS BASKETBALL: Hot start lifts Eagles Saturday

The Windom Eagle boys basketball team got off to a fast start and never looked back Saturday, rolling to an 86-45 victory over Edgerton at Windom.

The Eagles started the game with a 17-0 run, and Windom was able to maintain a lead over 20 points from the middle of the first half through the rest of the game.

The Eagles shot 46% from the field, including 32% from three-point range. Windom also shot a season-best 60% from the line in the win.

Drew Rothenberger led the Eagles with 22 points. Charles Erickson added 18 points and Eli Lund finished with 15 points and seven assists.

MLAC 52-38 = 90
Edgerton 27-36 = 63

Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey raced to a commanding lead early, then stetched the lead early in the second half Friday to claim a 90-63 victory at Edgerton.

The Wolverines never trailed in the contest, and were in command from the midway point of the opening half. MLAC used a 20-3 run to close the half to build a 25-point halftime edge.

The Wolverines shot well from the field, at just under 46%. The Wolverines added 11 three-pointers in the victory.

Carter Olson led the Wolverines with 22 points. Alex Karschnik added 18 and Grant Regier scored 10.

RRC 20-30 = 50
HBC 35-43 = 78

Hills-Beaver Creek got off to a strong start and kept its foot on the gas Friday night, rolling to a 78-50 victory over Red Rock Central at Hills.

The Patriots overcame a strong shooting night from the Falcons by turning defense into offense, forcing RRC into 33 turnovers in the game.

The turnovers allowed HBC to build a 15-point halftime lead and continue to expand the lead in the second half.

Isaac Simonson led RRC with 18 points adn 11 rebounds. Jayden Lang added eight points in the loss.
