WEEKEND GIRLS BASKETBALL: Wolverines, Falcons fall Friday

Edgerton 30-32 = 62
MLAC 24-27 = 51

Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey couldn’t find an answer for Edgerton’s strong interior game Friday night, as the Wolverines fell 62-51 at Mt. Lake.

The Dutchmen drove into the lane and attacked the bucket, forcing MLAC into foul trouble. That led to Edgerton going 20-of-34 from the line for the game.

MLAC’s offense tried to keep pace with its speed, but MLAC went just 9-of-19 from the stripe.

Julia Brinkman and Annika Brinkman each scored 12 points in the loss. Ellamae Peters added 11 points.

RRC 11-04 = 15
HBC 39-23 = 62

Red Rock Central had a dismal night from the field Friday, shooting just 11% from the floor in a 62-15 loss to Hills-Beaver Creek at Hills.

The Falcons had just four made field goals in the game and committed 31 turnovers.

Taylor Lang finished with eight points in the loss for the Falcons.
