WEEKEND BOYS HOCKEY: Eagles fall to Northstars

Prairie Centre 0-1-2 = 3
Windom Area 1-0-0 = 1

The Windom Area boys hockey team couldn’t generate quality scoring chances much of the game Friday, as the Eagles dropped a 3-1 decision to Prairie Centre at the Windom Arena.

The Eagles scored their only goal of the game in the early stages of the first period. Alex Cory won a scramble behind the net, feeding Guy Morgan for a shot on goal. The rebound found the stick of Andrei Rivera, who slid a slow-rolling puck past the Northstars’ goalie for a 1-0 Eagle lead.

Prairie Centre came back, scoring a power play goal in the second period to tie the game.

Then, the Northstars found the net early in the third, taking a 2-1 lead. Prairie Centre added an insurance goal on the power play with 2:55 left on the clock, sealing the win.

Prairie Centre outshot the Eagles 35-26 in the game. Goalie Adam Dahna finished with 32 saves for the Eagles.
