The Windom Area girls hockey team battled back from an early deficit Tuesday night, claiming a 4-3 overtime victory at Waseca.
Waseca netted three goals in the opening period, racing to a 3-1 lead at the time. But the Eagles clamped down on defense after that, limiting the Bluejay offensive opportunities over the final two periods and overtime.
Trailing 2-0 early in the game, the Eagles got on the board when Marissa Becker took a feed from Toria Robillard and found the back of the net.
Then, with 18 seconds left in the opening period, Madyson Fredin whistled a wrist shot past the Bluejay goalie off a feed from Addison Schumacher, cutting the Waseca lead to 3-2.
The Eagles tied the game at 3-3 late in the second period, as Fredin took a feed from Ella Dockter in the middle of the ice and stuffed a shot into the net.
The game remained tied until overtime. With 1:03 left on the clock, Becker intercepted a clearing attempt by the Bluejays and fired a shot past the Waseca goalie, giving the Eagles the victory.
Windom Area outshot Waseca 35-30 for the game. Goalie Fiona Robillard finished with 27 saves in the win.
