Kiwanis on comeback for kids

The Windom Kiwanis Club recently elected all new leadership and is on a mission now to rebolster membership toward the club’s mission of serving and helping area children.

“We are in existence to support children,” said Jamie Frank, who is the newly elected President of Kiwanis and also serves as Superintendent of Windom Area Schools.
“Kiwanis needed a President to lead the organization and I thought, Why not me?” said Frank. “Supporting children is my life’s mission so Kiwanis is the perfect organization for me.”

Brent Anderson of Edward Jones is the new vice president and Justin Schmidt of Bank Midwest is the new treasurer.

Jeff Reeves is the new secretary and he is a manager at Fortune Trucking. Reeves said he is working to update the club’s technology and interaction with the public. He has established a Facebook page for the club, and hopefully will produce a website in the near future.

“Kiwanis started in our community in 1951 and it is our major goal to change lives of children in the community, one child at a time,” said Reeves. “That is what sets us apart from other groups, and we are really striving to rebuild our membership.”
