SECTION VOLLEYBALL: Eagles sweep Arrows

The Windom Eagle volleyball team struggled to shake off the rust from an 11-day layoff in the opening round of the Section 3AA Tournament Friday, but Windom overcame a strong effort from Pipestone to record a 3-0 sweep at Windom.

After winning the opening set 25-16, the Eagles struggled to get going in set two. Pipestone held an early lead before the Eagles rallied late, eventually winning the set 25-22.

Windom was then able to close out the match with a strong 25-14 victory in the third set.

Hannah Dauer led the Eagles from the service line with three aces on 12-of-14 serving. Charlee Huska was 12-of-12 with an ace and Ember Struck was 9-of-10 with an ace.

Tristyn Maras paced the Eagles at the net with nine kills. Leah Hauge and Addison Colbert had six kills each.

Anja Nielsen finished with 15 set assists. Kadyn Paulson had a team-high eight digs.
