Jewish speaker talks Israel, eschatology

Mottel Baleston, a Jewish believer in Jesus originally from Brooklyn, N.Y. made a recent visit to Windom and spoke to church and community members about the war in Israel and his faith perspective on end-times thinking.

“What happened in Israel is like three 9-11’s here,” Baleston said, “if you look at it per capita for the overall population. It is a horrible situation.”

Baleston visited and spoke in Mt. Lake during the week and preached and taught at First Baptist Church of Windom, a long-time supporter of his missionary work in the New Jersey/New York area.

The missionary says he lives in an area that is home to over a quarter million Jewish people, and he is deeply ingrained in Jewish life there.

Baleston’s video testimony of how he came to faith has over 3.3 million views on YouTube, the highest number ever for the oneforisrael channel, and over 10 million views on the web in total: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sMEkGoojbg.

Pastor Marlin Mohrman of First Baptist is serving an interim role, but said that the church has a 30-year relationship with Baleston and were thrilled with the timing of his visit.

“When world events flare up in a serious way,” said Mohrman, “people begin to seek for answers.”
