TUESDAY CROSS COUNTRY: Eagles run shorthanded at BSC meet

The Windom boys finished fourth in the team standings and the girls placed seventh in the small-school division of the Big South Conference Meet, which was held Tuesday at the Marshall Golf Club.

Windom had one all-conference runner and two honorable mention performers.

The Eagle boys finished with 69 points. Redwood Valley won the team title with 39 points.

The Eagle girls scored 167 points. Redwood Valley won the team title with 25 points.

Individually for the Eagle boys, Aaden Nauman earned all-conference honors, finishing fourth overall with a time of 16:36.

Charlie Smith and Bryce Green earned honorable mention for the Eagles. Smith finished eighth (17:08) and Green finished 13th (17:38). Braylen Lyons placed 16th (17:48) and Isaac Bordewyk was 29th (19:50). The Eagle boys ran without senior Thomas Green, who continues to recover from an appendectomy.

The Eagle girls also were without a key runner, as state-ranked junior Kaylee Walklin did not compete. The Eagles were paced by Macie Carlson, who finished 23rd with a time of 23:00. Ella Smith was 33rd (23:41), followed by Jocelyn Frank in 35th (23:50), Jesselle Sosa in 37th (24:23) and Penelope Roberts in 46th (26:23).
