School enrollment slightly down

Windom Area Schools Superintendent Jamie Frank told the school board the district’s enrollment is slightly lower compared to last year.

At Monday’s meeting, Frank said the Oct. 1 enrollment in the district was 1,148, which was down 10 from a year earlier.

The district will be compensated $10,000 for each student lost from between Oct. 1, 2022 and Oct. 1, 2023 due to the closure of the HyLife plant.

More from Monday’s school board meeting appears in the Oct. 11 print and e-editions of the Citizen.
