TUESDAY VOLLEYBALL: Falcons, Wolverines fall

Red Rock Central couldn’t maintain the momentum from an opening-set victory Tuesday night, as Adrian-Ellsworth stormed back, winning the next three sets for a 3-1 victory at Lamberton.

The Falcons were able to rally in the opening set, winning a 25-23 victory. But the Dragons jumped to a commanding lead in set two, cruising to a 25-11 victory.

AE kept that momentum the rest of the way, earning comfortable victories in the final two sets for the win.

Callie Highby led the Falcons with six kills. Mercedes Myers added five kills.

Addison Irlbeck was 11-of-11 serving with an ace. Tia Donkersloot went 15-of-15 serving.

Irlbeck and Natasha Erickson each had nine set assists. Irlbeck and Maia Scheffler each recorded 12 digs.

SWC 25-25-25 = 3

Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey started strong, but Southwest Christian imposed its will late, claiming a 3-0 sweep over the Wolverines at Edgerton Tuesday night.

The Wolverines held an early lead in the opening set, but SWC was able to storm back, winning 25-16.

Set two started out back and forth before the Eagles pulled away late. SWC then carried that momentum into the third set, racing to a commanding early lead before claiming a 25-13 win.

Kyla Wuertz led the Wolverines with five kills and three blocks. Brie Anacker added three kills and Ashlyn Pfeiffer and Aayla Radtke each had two kills.

Phithsada Phoumivong had two ace serves. Reagan Christians finished with 13 set assists. Isabella Vidana had eight digs.
