Board hears update on plans for intersections

Highway 60 around Mt. Lake could see significant work in the coming years.

At Tuesday’s meeting, Mary Dieken from MnDOT updated Cottonwood County Commissioners on studies to the roadway and intersections in Mt. Lake, as well as plans to address the corridor.

Dieken said the roadway needs shoulder improvement, repair of a significant dip and has some pavement repair needs, as well as possible work on two bridges.

Dieken said that a focus group is gathering input and that an open house is slated for Nov. 2. After that, MnDOT will look at concepts and come up with a preferred alternative.

Project development is tentatively slated for 2025 through 2027, with a possible start of construction in 2028.

More from Tuesday’s meeting appears in the Oct. 4 print and e-editions of the Citizen.
