Windom finally gets $13 million grant paperwork

Windom Mayor Dominic Jones announced Thursday that grant papers arrived that will help facilitate the reception of $13 million in state aid for the city that was granted in the wake of the HyLife pork plant’s abrupt closing.

City Administrator Steve Nasby said the documents have already been shared with the developers of the stalled 60-unit housing project that was originally built for HyLife workers.

Ten million of the money passed by the state legislature before it closed in spring was earmarked to help finish the housing project.
