Little feedback given on cannabis ordinance

Cottonwood County Commissioners could act to implement a new ordinance regarding cannabis sales and usage, possibly as early as its next meeting.

The board hosted a pair of public hearings last Tuesday. County Attorney Nick Anderson presented information on the state’s cannabis statute and explained the proposed ordinance for the county.

Anderson said only a handful of people attended each of the two hearings, adding that the presentations outlined both state license fees and planned county fees for various businesses with cannabis products, ranging from retail to wholesale to production.

Much more on the county ordinance and a look at the state statute appears in the Sept. 27 print and e-editions of the Citizen.
