THURSDAY CROSS COUNTRY: Eagle boys claim third straight meet win

Tri For Health Invite

The Windom boys cross country meet won its third event in a row Thursday, claiming the title at the Tri For Health Invite, held at the Jackson Golf Club.

The Eagles finished with 45 team points, edging Luverne, which finished with 49 points. Martin County West/Butterfield-Odin also competed in the meet with an incomplete team.

The Eagle girls fielded an incomplete team at the meet. Luverne won the meet with 26 points. MCWBO was second with 55.

Aaden Nauman paced the Eagle boys, placing fourth with a time of 17:27. Thomas Green was close behind in sixth (17:38), followed by Charlie Smith in 13th (18:42), Bryce Green in 14th (18:49) and Braylen Lyons in 16th (18:56).

MCWBO was led by Ryan Pierson, who placed second with a time of 16:53. Grant Koehnen was 11th (18:40), followed by Hayden O’Connor in 55th (24:48) and David Taylor in 59th (26:23).

Windom’s girls competed without junior Kaylee Walklin. Jesselle Sosa led the Eagles, finishing in 14th place with a time of 25:12. Jocelyn Frank was 22nd (26:18).

MCWBO was led by Katie Hartke, who finished second with a time of 21:55. Maddison Lyon was eighth (24:18), followed by Katelynn Kennedy in 13th (25:02), Hannah Cole in 23rd (26:27) and Eva Miranda in 26th (27:29).
