THURSDAY VOLLEYBALL: Wolverines, Falcons fall

HBC 23-25-26-25 = 3
MLAC 25-20-24-19 = 1

Hills-Beaver Creek made a furious rally to take the third set then kept its momentum to close out a 3-1 victory over Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey Thursday in Mt. Lake.

The Wolverines won the opening set before HBC won set two. MLAC then held a commanding 24-19 lead in the crucial third set before HBC rallied, eventually winning the set 26-24.

The Patriots then won set four 25-19, closing out the match.

Ella Dockter and Aayla Radtke each had four ace serves in the match for MLAC. Dockter was 14-of-16 serving while Radtke went 13-of-16. Reagan Christians was 14-of-17 with three aces.

Brie Anacker led MLAC with eight kills. Kyla Wuertz added six kills and Kaila Blom had five.

Christians finished with 19 set assists. Anacker and Blom each had nine digs.

RRC 10-26-24-19 = 1
MCC 25-24-26-25 = 3

Red Rock Central shook off a slow start, but Murray County Central rallied to win a crucial third set on its way to a 3-1 victory Thursday in Slayton.

The Falcons dropped the opening set 25-10, but rebounded for a 26-24 win in the second set. RRC then led late in set three, but MCC rallied for a 26-24 victory.

Mikayla Weis led RRC from the service line, going 17-of-19. Ella Erickson was 15-of-16.

Tia Donkersloot had a team-high seven kills. Weis added six kills.

Natasha Erickson finished with three set assists. Maia Scheffler had a team-high 21 digs.
