A proposed hotel project in Mt. Lake got a boost toward fruition Tuesday.
At a special meeting, Cottonwood County Commissioners approved a tax abatement for the project. The abatement will be worth $225,000 over a term of up to nine years.
The abatement came after a request from the Mt. Lake EDA, seeking a tax abatement with similar terms to a TIF district, which the project was not eligible for.
