TUESDAY VOLLEYBALL: Eagles sweep Falcons

The Windom Eagle volleyball team took control early and kept the pressure on throughout Tuesday night, rolling to a 3-0 victory over Red Rock Central at Lamberton.

The Eagles fired 15 ace serves as a team in the win and held RRC without a kill for the first set of the night, winning 25-8. The Eagles continued the offensive pressure into the final sets, pulling away late for victories.

Charlee Huska went 13-of-13 serving with five aces. Tristyn Maras was 14-of-16 with four aces and Addison Colbert was 17-of-19 with four aces.

Hannah Dauer had a team-high 11 kills. Maras added 10 and Colbert had nine.

Huska had 15 set assists. Kadyn Paulson finished with 14 digs.

RRC was led by Mikayla Weis with three kills. Abby Evans and Mercedes Myers added two kills each.

Natasha Erickson was 11-of-11 serving. Evans was 9-of-10 with an ace.

Addison Irlbeck had 14 digs. Erickson had four set assists.

Cleveland 25-25-25 = 3

Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey couldn’t shake off a slow start Tuesday night, dropping a 3-0 decision at Cleveland.

The Clippers blasted away from the service line and had an efficient offensive night, rolling to a 25-9 win in the opening set.

The Wolverines tried to battle back in set two, but Cleveland pulled away late, then carried that momentum into the final set for the sweep.

Reagan Christians went 8-of-9 serving with two aces. Kaila Blom was 7-of-7 with two aces and Kyla Wuertz was 7-of-7 with an ace.

Wuertz and Brie Anacker finished with five kills each.

Christians had 10 set assists. Isabella Vidana finished with eight digs.
