Dallas Schmidt of Brooklyn Park, MN passed away on July 31 at the age of 81. He was born on May 8, 1942, in Ceylon, MN. Dallas married Marilynn Huntley of Dolliver, IA on March 28, 1964, and welcomed four children to this union. They resided in Jackson, MN for 10 years then moved to Windom, MN where he worked for many years.
On December 8, 1979, Dallas married Elizabeth Eitzen, of Mountain Lake, MN. They enjoyed 27 years of marriage until her death in 2006.
Dallas worked for Sioux Engineering, a Civil Engineering firm in Windom from 1963 to 1985. His job included drafting, designing, and surveying. Dallas went on to be an Insurance Agent for Farmers Insurance in Windom from 1986 until his retirement in 2000.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Margaret Schmidt; ex-wife, Marilynn Ennis; and wife, Elizabeth Schmidt.
Dallas will be missed by his children and step-children, Bradley Schmidt, Shannon Schmidt, Jason (Jenae) Schmidt, Heidi (Chris) Harbaugh, Lori (John) Koester, Marc (Victor Guevara) Eitzen, Lisa (Michael) Bierker; grandchildren, Alexander Schmidt, Emily Schmidt, Jake Harbaugh, Dylan Harbaugh, Sam Koester, Olivia Koester, Alec Bierker, and Dmitry Bierker; and great-grandchildren Waylon Rongitsch and Evalyn Bierker.
The family will have a private Memorial Service. Interment will be at Mt Lake Cemetery.
