Anderson wins eighth WCC title

Perfect course conditions for golf came at a cost this weekend for players in the Windom Country Club Men’s Club Tournament.

Saturday’s heat made things difficult for players. And while Sunday offered a reprieve from the weather, the toughest pin placements of the season proved to be a difficult obstacle for players.

In the end, Brent Anderson tapped in a bogey on the final hole to cap his eighth WCC Men’s Club Tourney championship.

Anderson finished the tournament shooting a 36-hole score of 154. His father, Kim Anderson, finished second with a 156. Anthony Buckentin placed third with a 160.

Luke Gilbertson won the President’s Flight, while Dave Johnson won the first flight and Randy Will won the second flight.

More from the weekend’s tournament appears in the Aug. 23 print and e-editions of the Citizen.
