Lorna Jean Nagorske was born to the late John and Bertha Johnson on July 26, 1936, at the Mountain Lake Hospital. Lorna grew up in the Christian faith, baptized May 09, 1937, and confirmed in the United Methodist Church in Bingham Lake, MN. As a member there, she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and was involved with the youth group. Lorna graduated from Windom High School with the class of 1954.
On August 12, 1955, Lorna was united in marriage to Eldon Nagorske at the United Methodist Church in Bingham Lake, MN. Shortly after marrying Eldon, she was confirmed into the Lutheran faith at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Windom, MN, February 26, 1956. Her confirmation verse was Revelations 2:10, “Be Thou faithful until death and I will give Thee a crown of Life.” Their marriage was blessed with four children, Lynn, Lori, Robin, and Lisa.
She worked at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company, First National Bank, and Dr. Peterson & Klassen Dental before starting her 25-year career as an Agricultural Service Specialist with the USDA Farm Service Agency. She enjoyed working with her co-workers and visiting with the farmers there until her retirement in 1996.
After retirement, Lorna and Eldon enjoyed traveling and spent many winters in southern climates including Arizona, Florida, and Nevada. They enjoyed being spectators at various sporting events. They liked attending community plays and the Okoboji summer theater. Lorna also enjoyed going for walks and reading.
Christmas was Lorna’s favorite time of year. She loved the family tradition of welcoming everyone home to celebrate together. She loved making “treats” for all the family and always had favorites ready when they visited.
Lorna and Eldon were married for 59 years when he went to his Heavenly home in January of 2015. In 2022, Lorna moved to Riley Crossing Senior Living in Chanhassen to be closer to her daughters and their families. Lorna passed away on August 16, 2023, at her home there.
Left to cherish Lorna’s memory are her children, Lori (Randy) Marquette of Chanhassen; Robin (Bob) Hanson of Maple Grove; Lisa (Brian) Bischel of Prior Lake; daughter-in-law, Pam Nagorske of Greenwood; five granddaughters; four grandsons; ten great grandchildren; sister, Joyce (Darrel) Stevens of Windom; as well as other family and friends.
Lorna is preceded in death by her parents, John and Bertha Johnson; husband, Eldon Nagorske; son, Lynn Nagorske; brother, Ron Johnson; and sister, Gloria Wiles.

A Celebration of Life Service for Lorna Nagorske, age 87, of Chanhassen, Minnesota, formerly of Windom, will be held on Wednesday, August 23rd at 1:00 PM at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Windom, with Reverend Paul Sajban officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Windom.
A time of visitation and gathering will be held for one-hour prior to the Service, from Noon to 1:00 PM on Wednesday at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior.
