Goldie Lenora (Rosenau) Grant was born on April 27, 1920, in Elysian, Minnesota, to Herman and Sadie (Wetzel) Rosenau. She grew up in Elysian, where she attended grade school and graduated from Waterville-Elysian High School with the class of 1938. She continued her post-secondary education at the Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis, where she studied bookkeeping.
In 1940, Goldie moved to Windom, Minnesota, where she was baptized in August of that year. On May 15, 1942, she was united in marriage to Arlon “Pete” Grant at Elysian. The couple was blessed with six children. Following marriage, the couple farmed in Lakeside Township in Cottonwood County for 15 years. During that time, Goldie was employed at the First National Bank of Windom as a bookkeeper. In 1957, Goldie & Pete moved to Brooten, Minnesota. In 1979, they retired from farming and made their home in Windom to enjoy their retirement with family and friends in their new home.
Goldie was a woman of God who dedicated herself to serving others. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Windom and the Glenwood Baptist Church and spent a great deal of time serving her church and volunteering in the communities where she lived for more than a century. She served for 34 years as the pianist/organist at the First Baptist Church and Glenwood Baptist Church; 18 years as the financial secretary or treasurer; 20 years as a Sunday School and Bible School teacher, sharing her love of God with the children; the church librarian (since 1984); Deaconess, CE Board, and president of the Women’s Society for the church; 18 years as a Reach to Recovery volunteer for the American Cancer Society; RSVP volunteer; and Extension member. Pete and Goldie travelled extensively to all 50 states, as well as internationally to Israel, Turkey, Greece, 10 countries in Europe, and the Maritime provinces in Eastern Canada.
In March 2017, Goldie became a resident at the Sogge Memorial Good Samaritan Society. Goldie was called home to Heaven on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at the age of 103 years, at the Sogge Memorial Good Samaritan Society in Windom.

Left to cherish the legacy of Goldie Grant are her son, Charles (Lynda) Grant of Jeffers; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; daughters-in-law, Linda Grant and Margo Grant; sons-in-law, Rodger Kerr, Charles Swanson, Loren Nyflot; and many dear relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arlon “Pete” Grant; children, Russell Grant, Joanne Kerr, Joyce Swanson, Beverly Nyflot, and Richard Grant, as well as a stillborn daughter; sister, Dorothy Schroeder; and brother, Royal Rosenau.
A Celebration of Life Service was held Sunday, August 20th at the LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center in Windom, with Pastor John Keck officiating. The service was live streamed on the LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center Facebook page. Burial was at Lakeview Cemetery in Windom on Monday, August 21st.
