DNR approves city deer hunt application

Windom city officials reported last week that the DNR has approved the application for a city deer hunt this fall, and that citizens will be able to apply for permits soon.

City Administrator Steve Nasby said that there will be 15 permits available and citizens can get the application online or contact the city. The fee will be $20. The materials and links to apply should be available soon.

The hunt is with bow only and the permit will allow hunters to shoot two deer without antlers. There will be a proficiency test for archers that they will need to pass before being allowed to hunt.
