Public hearings set for cannabis ordinance

At Tuesday’s meeting, Cottonwood County Commissioners set the date to hear public input on a proposed ordinance regarding the sale of cannabis in the county.

The board set two public hearings, with both being held on Sept. 19 at the Law Enforcement Center in Windom. One will be at noon, with the other at 6:30 p.m.

County Attorney Nick Anderson added that each city in the county may need its own ordinance, dictating potential penalties for public marijuana use.

More from Tuesday’s meeting appears in the Aug. 2 print and e-editions of the Citizen.
