All systems go for Tuesday’s Night to Unite

Night to Unite will be held Tuesday night, August 1 on the downtown square from 5-7 p.m. and offers food, entertainment and education to Windom area residents.

Jenny Quade, a probation officer and a city council member, helps organize the event and she says this is a popular yearly event that has really grown.

The Windom Chamber of Commerce sponsors the event, and the organization used to run a separate event with food and an ice cream social near the end of August, and eventually the decision was made to team together on one date early in the month for the Night to Unite.

“The night is about bringing our community together,” said Quade. “I know people like to talk about how they like that small-town feeling in a city like Windom, how you like to feel like you live in a small town and you are connected. This is the way to get connected.”

There will be food, an ice cream social, music, door prizes and events like interviews with local police and service providers that everyone will be able to hear. All door prizes are bought locally.
