A new Scooters coffee shop is being constructed in Windom on Highway 60-71 between Seventh and Eighth Streets and the owner hopes the new business will be open for business before the snow flies.
Craig Mork owns Duffy’s Bar & Grill right next door to the location for the new coffee shop, and the project has been in the works for about a year and a half. Scooters will be a drive-thru only business, and with no need for inside seating and service, the footprint of the building can be smaller and is fairly narrow to allow access for vehicles to order and drive around the building.
Once the lot was leveled and prepared, the foundation was established fairly quickly. Framing began last week and all the walls and the basic structure of the building came into view for passersby within a matter of days.
“It’s a good fit for the city of Windom,” said Mork. “I felt the city needed a good coffee shop.”
