Premium Iowa Pork, of Hospers, Iowa and Luverne, has owned the former HyLife pork processing plant for two months now, but is still silent on any specific plans for the Windom facility.
PIP announced shortly after buying the facility that they are excited to join the Windom community and believe the acquisition will be a good fit for their operation and future plans.
The company later said it would take about sixty days to evaluate the plant and determine its potential uses. PIP is based out of Hospers, Iowa, which is about 75 miles south on Highway 60 from Windom.
