After years of planning a new Kayak launch has been installed on the river at Island Park in Windom. Over $14,000 was raised for the project with donations from over 20 groups and individuals.
Windom Chamber of Commerce Director Emily Cenzano stated, “The Convention and Visitor’s Bureau is happy to have this project finalized to serve as a resource for local citizens and as a way to draw visitors to our community. It is always great when we can help add amenities to our parks.”
City Streets Superintent Jon Ketzenberg said, “This is a lot safer for people now, and there’s no worry about the kayak getting away from you.”
