Cottonwood County Commissioners started planning for an upcoming vacancy in the county recorder’s office at Wednesday’s regular meeting.
The board approved posting an opening for a deputy recorder, pending receipt of an official retirement notice from the current deputy recorder, who has stated she plans to retire at the end of the year but has not formally submitted that notice.
County Recorder Kathy Kretsch also updated the board on several law changes that impact the recorder’s office, including changes that allow non-legal residents to obtain driver’s licenses and changes allowing for civil officiants for marriages.
More from Wednesday’s meeting will appear in the July 12 print and e-editions of the Citizen.
