Eva Morgan passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Lakefield, Minnesota.
Eva Etta (Carey) Morgan was born in Amo Township of Cottonwood County, Minnesota on October 18, 1921. She was the youngest child of the late Wallace and Mary (Sykora) Carey. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Don and her siblings , brother Arlow Carey, sisters Madelyn Eichner and Hazel Nelson. Also, infant sisters Enid and Effie.
Eva grew up in Amo Township near Storden, Minnesota. As an infant she was baptized and later confirmed in the Amo Methodist Church. She attended the District 24 Grade School and graduated from Storden High School.
Eva trained as a hairdresser in Mankato, Minnesota. She was the proud owner of the Eva Lu Beauty Salon, in Windom with her long time friend Luella and also later with Eileen.
On June 20, 1952 Eva was joined in marriage to Donald W. Morgan. Don and Eva made their home in Windom. In later years they enjoyed many travels in their motor home and made many acquaintances along the way. That wasn’t hard for them to do as Eva always had coffee and cookies ready for anyone that wanted to join them at their picnic table.
After losing Don, Eva remained in their home and kept busy with her Church activities, her card club, and her flower gardens. She spent many hours doing volunteer work. She enjoyed her family time with her many nieces and nephews. She especially loved the Christmas Holidays and had great joy in decorating her home. She was known for the wonderful batches of Christmas cookies she made and shared during the Christmas Holidays.
As Eva aged, she developed dementia and was no longer able to care for herself. In October 2020 she entered Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Lakefield, Minnesota where she peacefully passed away on Wednesday, June 28 , 2023.
Eva is survived by nieces and nephews, Carolyn O’Brien, Vonnie Folsom, Marcy (Rueben) Madson and Verne (Karen) Carey, Audrey (Rick) Kulseth and Gordy Eichner, Robert (Carol) Nelson, Doug (Joan) Nelson, Donn (Sue) Nelson, Carla (George) Olsem, Roberta (Richard) Wright, a nd many special great nieces and nephews.
