Douglas “Doug” Charles Scrivens was born on May 30, 1950, to the late Charles and Kathryn (Ochsner) Scrivens in Jamestown, North Dakota. He lived with his family in Ypsilanti, North Dakota, and attended Jamestown High School, graduating with the class of 1968. He continued his education at the University of North Dakota, completing his degree in accounting in 1972.
On November 30, 1974, Doug was united in marriage to Shirley Ann Walker and instantly gained a family in James and Urban. Later, they welcomed Monte into their family. Doug owned and operated Jamestown Sand & Gravel before moving with his family to Windom, Minnesota in the early ‘90s. There he managed Windom Ready Mix for 20 years.
Doug enjoyed swinging a club at the golf course and playing cards with friends and was a lifetime member of the Eagles.
On June 14, 2023, Douglas passed away at Windom Area Health in Windom, Minnesota, at the age of 73.
Left to cherish Doug’s memory are his wife of 48 years, Shirley Ann (Walker) Scrivens of Windom, MN; three children, James (Ann) Walker of Garden Grove, CA, Urban Crawford of Cave Creek, AZ, Monte (Beth) Scrivens of Windom, MN; three grandchildren, Cory Walker, Wyatt and Kaede Scrivens.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Kathryn Scrivens; and his sister, Phyllis Scrivens.
