Section 2A Day One
The Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey boys finished 11th in the team standings on the first day of the Section 2A Tournament, played Thursday at North Links in Mankato.
The Wolverines shot a 372. Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton led the team competition after the first day of the tourney with a 337. The top four teams advance to Monday’s section finals in their entirety.
Two Wolverine individuals advanced to Monday’s section finals. MLAC was led by Devyn Rempel, who finished day one with an 87. Grant Oakland tied for the final individual qualifying spot, shooting an 89.
Joey Faber finished with a 92. Landon Strom added a 104.
The opening day of the girls’ section tournament was played Tuesday at North Links. The lone Wolverine girl, Johnna Gardiner, finished with a 153. Sleepy Eye United held a dominant lead in the team portion of the tournament, shooting a 411 in the opening round.
