Section 3AA Finals
The Windom Eagle boys golf team finished fifth in Section 3AA, shooting a two-day total score of 666, including a 336 in Wednesday’s final round, played at Oakdale Golf Club near Buffalo Lake.
No Eagle individuals advanced to the Class AA State Tournament.
New London-Spicer won the boys team championship, shooting a two-day score of 623 to defeat Luverne by five strokes.
Sophomore Landon Pillatzki led the Eagles at the section tournament, finishing 10th overall with a two-day score of 157. Pillatzki shot a 79 during Wednesday’s final round. He finished five strokes out of a state qualifying position.
Eli Lund finished 25th with a 166. Greyson Elder was 33rd with a 173. Carter Rossow finished 37th with a 175.
For the Eagle girls, Ada Lund finished 24th with a two-day score of 194. Redwood Valley won the team championship, shooting a two-day score of 679 to defeat Minnewaska Area by 30 strokes.
Section 3A Finals
The Russell-Tyler-Ruthton girls and Lakeview boys advanced to the Class A State Tournament after winning the Section 3A championship Wednesday at GreatLife Golf Course in Worthington.
RTR’s girls shot a two-day score of 847, defeating Murray County Central by 16 strokes.
Lakeview’s boys had a two-day score of 659, defeating Heron Lake-Okabena-Fulda/Westbrook-Walnut Grove by nine strokes.
Red Rock Central’s lone section final round qualifier, Keagan Steen, finished in 19th place, overall, after shooting a two-day score of 184.
