Arrest made after Windom High School lockdown

On Wednesday (May 10) at 11:17 a.m. the Windom Police Department was notified that a student reported finding .22 shells in the bathroom at school. The school went into a lockdown, with students and teachers staying in their classrooms, while the administration and the Windom Police Department investigated the situation.

During the search, an unloaded gun was found in a vehicle outside of the school and a juvenile was taken into custody. Law enforcement officers determined that the building was safe, the lockdown was lifted, and students returned to class.
