TUESDAY TRACK: Eagles, Chargers run at Worthington

Trojan Relays

Windom and Westbrook-Walnut Grove/Red Rock Central each took part in the Trojan Relays, held Tuesday in Worthington.

Windom’s boys finished sixth in the Class AA portion of the meet with 61 points. Worthington won the team title with 173 points.

Windom’s girls were seventh in the Class AA meet with 52 points. Fairmont won the team title with 166½.

WWG/RRC’s girls were fifth in the Class A portion of the meet with 51 points. Southwest Christian/Edgerton won the title with 179 points.

WWG/RRC’s boys were seventh with 61 points. SWCE won the team title with 143 points.

Windom’s boys were led by a runner-up finish from the 4×800 relay team of Aaden Naumen, Charlie Smith, Jacob Green and Thomas Green (8:33.88). The 4×400 relay team of Kevin Bleess, Smith, Thomas Green and Bryan Macario Rios was third (3:33.64).

Bleess was fourth in the 200 (23.96) and long jump (19-2). Macario Rios was fourth in the 400 (52.80). Thomas Green was fourth in the 800 (2:10.43).

For the girls, Elliot Espenson was second in the shot put (35-10) and third in the triple jump (30-11). Kaylee Walklin placed second in the 800 (2:24.19). The 4×800 relay team of Victoria Robillard, Hannah Dauer, Haidyn Sammons and Jesselle Sosa was third (11:18.80).

WWG/RRC’s girls were led by Riley Parker and Abby Wiggins, who tied for third in the pole vault (7-0). Amelia Sikel was third in the long jump (14-4½). Evelyn Rentschler was fourth in the 100 hurdles (18.85) and Anna Byers was fourth in the 300 hurdles (57.82).

For the boys, Kole Curry won the 100 (11.89) and was second in the 200 (24.15). Luke DeSmith was third in the 400 (54.90). Drew Swanson took third in the 800 (2:14.75). Ben Yang finished third in the pole vault (9-6). Bowen Hesse was fourth in the 110 hurdles (19.80).

Valley Conference Meet

Martin County West/Butterfield-Odin’s girls and boys each finished third in the standings at the Valley Conference Meet, held Tuesday in Lake Crystal.

The MCWBO girls scored 57 points. Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial-Nicollet won the team title with 161 points.

The MCWBO boys had 66 points. LCWMN won the team title with 135 points.

For the girls, Lucy Larson finished second in the 100 (14.01). Katie Hartke was second in the 3,200 (12:58.59). Mylee Larson was second in the discus (91-5). MCWBO also placed second in the 4×100 (54.90), 4×200 (2:00.82) and 4×800 (11:30.41).

For the boys, Max Olson won the discus (131-3). MCWBO added wins in the 4×100 (47.39), 4×200 (1:39.13) and 4×800 (8:40.91) and took second in the 4×400 (3:42.96). Ryan Pierson finished second in the 3,200 (10:14.48). Joseph Forsberg was second in the 200 (24.76).
