While many elementary students at Windom Area Schools have plenty of options as far as one-on-one time with adults to talk or play games, that’s not always the case for every student.
Seeing the need for interaction, Daphne Easler and Windom Area Schools K-4 principal Dane Nielsen saw the perfect opportunity to bring back the Lunch Buddies program, where an adult comes to Windom Area Elementary School and spends the lunch hour with the student.
It’s a one-on-one session and gives the student a chance to interact with an adult outside of the immediate family. The child and their “buddy” will sit and eat a school lunch together and talk in the school’s library.
