Sentinel Relays
Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey won the Class A boys team title at Friday’s Sentinel Relays, held at Fairmont.
The Wolverine boys finished with 107 points. Martin County West/Butterfield-Odin was seventh with 52.
For the girls, MLAC was fifth with 66 points. MCWBO was sixth with 58 points. River Valley won the team title with 129 points.
The Wolverine boys showed their strength in the relays at the meet. The team of Jordan Linscheid, Ethan Schroeder, Zach Klassen and Kody Wassman won the 4×400 relay (3:36.51). The team of Carter Olson, Schroeder, Klassen and Wassman won the 4×800 (8:26.47) and the team of Luke Klassen, Preston Xayachak, Olson and Wassman won the sprint medley Relay (3:53.61).
Zach Klassen added a win in the 1,600 (4:43.09). Layne Wall won the triple jump (39-2) with Linscheid second (38-11½). Wall took second in the 110 hurdles (18.64). Olson was second in the 400 (53.91). Luke Klassen was second in the pole vault (9-3).
For the Wolverine girls, Kearney Wall won the discus (90-6). Michala Morin was second in the high jump (4-8). Gracie Peters was second in the 400 (1:06.26). The team of Hannah Beyer, Lydia Rete, Theresa Nwaiga and Meghan Johnson took second in the 4×800 (11:03.22).
The MCWBO boys were led by Max Olson, who won the discus (121-5). The team of Joseph Forsberg, Kylar Larson, Jamesson Forsberg and Riley Cole was second in the 4×400 (3:40.29). The team of Grant Koehnen, Larson, Jamesson Forsberg and Cole took second in the 4×800 (8:57.47).
MCWBO’s girls were led by Katie Hartke, who took second in the 3,200 (13:18.94). The team of Ava Thate, Aspen Kosbab, Kari Matejka and Hartke took second in the sprint medley relay (4:45.86).
