Cottonwood County Commissioners moved closer to resolving lingering building issues at a special meeting held Wednesday.
The board looked at funding options for construction of a new public works building, including bonding and potentially adding to the county’s current wheelage tax.
The board also looked at facility needs for Des Moines Valley Health and Human Services and needed repairs to the county courthouse, with the potential of a bond of up to $10 million.
The board also addressed the potential to address other needs, including a possible broadband project and upgrades to the Law Enforcement Center, which may be part of a request for state bonding dollars.
A bid of $42,070 to replace shingles on the county courthouse, submitted by Sanow Construction, was approved.
More on Wednesday’s meeting will appear in the May 10 print and e-editions of the Citizen.
