TUESDAY TRACK: Eagles run at New Ulm

New Ulm Meet

Windom’s girls placed fifth and the boys took seventh at the New Ulm Meet held Tuesday.

Windom’s girls scored 61 points. Tri-City United won the meet with 120 points.

The Eagle boys finished with 46½ points. Marshall won the meet with 133.

Windom’s girls were led by double-event winner Kaylee Walklin, who took first in the 800 (2:30.24) and 1,600 (5:30.81).

Elliot Espenson added wins in the shot put (35-3) and discus (99-7). Haidyn Sammons placed second in the 3,200 (13:28.44).

For the boys, the top finishes were runner-up performances in the 4×200 (1:41.37) and 4×400 (3:45.86).

Bryan Macario Rios took third in the 400 (54.48). Charlie Smith was fourth in the 3,200 (11:17.30). Kevin Bleess finished fourth in the long jump (18-8½).

Bob Nangle Relays

Westbrook-Walnut Grove/Red Rock Central’s girls were eighth and the boys ninth at the Bob Nangle Relays, held Tuesday in Pipestone.

WWG/RRC’s girls scored 19½ points. Luverne won the meet with 194.

WWG/RRC’s boys had 33½ points. Luverne won the meet with 191½.

WWG/RRC’s girls were led by Abby Wiggins, who finished second in the pole vault (7-6). Riley Parker was fifth in the pole vault (6-6).

The Charger boys were led by Kole Curry, who won the 100 (11.55) and was second in the 200 (24.16). Luke DeSmith took fourth in the long jump (17-9¼). Bowen Hesse was fifth in the 110 hurdles (19.32). Ben Yang took fifth in the pole vault (9-0).

St. James Quad

Martin County West/Butterfield-Odin’s girls and boys each finished fourth at Tuesday’s St. James Quad.

The MCWBO girls scored 43 points. River Valley won the meet with 102.

The Maverick boys finished with 37½ points. River Valley won the meet with 90.

MCWBO’s girls were led by Ava Thate’s runner-up finish in the 300 hurdles (55.65).

Avery Larson took third in the 200 (29.84). Elizabeth Peterson was third in the 800 (3:08.76) with Evelynn Christensen fourth (3:12.03). Katie Hartke placed third in the 1,600 (6:03.05). Diana Rodriguez placed third in the 3,200 (14:29.81). Mylee Larson was third in the discus (70-10). Isabella Lange placed fourth in the high jump (4-4) and triple jump (28-1½).

The Maverick boys were led by Max Olson, who won the shot put (41-9).

Ryan Pierson was second in the 1,600 (4:49.09). Kylar Larson was second in the discus (109-6) with Olson third (106-10). Jamesson Forsberg took third in the 800 (2:10.06). Bearent Kosbab placed fourth in the 100 (12.44). Grant Koehnen was fourth in the 3,200 (11:35.57).
