The Windom baseball team scored 12 unanswered runs Tuesday afternoon, rolling to a 12-1 victory over Blue Earth Area at Blue Earth.
BEA got on the board first, but the Eagles took the lead for good in the top of the second on a two-run Quintin Tietz single.
Brady Espenson added an RBI groundout in the third and Windom scored two runs on an error in the fourth, taking a 5-1 lead.
The Eagles blew the game open in the fifth. Hayden Tietz and Quintin Tietz plated runs on fielder’s choices and Tucker Renquist drew a bases-loaded walk. Drew Rothenberger then delivered the big blow of the game, smashing a grand slam home run over the left field fence.
Quintin Tietz, Rothenberger and Adam Perrizo each had two hits in the win.
Rothenberger earned the complete-game pitching win, allowing four hits and four walks while fanning three.
