Red Rock Conference Meet #1
Golfers in the Red Rock Conference hit the course for the first of four 18-hole conference events Thursday, with the boys playing in Sanborn and the girls in Slayton.
After the first day of competition, the Adrian-Ellsworth girls and Heron Lake-Okabena-Fulda/Westbrook-Walnut Grove boys held the lead in team competition. The Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey boys were in third and Red Rock Central’s boys were seventh.
For the girls, Adrian-Ellsworth shot a 443, holding a seven-stroke lead over Murray County Central. Red Rock Central golfed with an incomplete team.
The HLOF/WWG boys shot a 358, holding a five-stroke lead over Adrian-Ellsworth. MLAC shot 376. RRC finished with a 468.
Individually for the girls, Adrian-Ellsworth’s Taya Elias was the day-one medalist, shooting a 94. RRC’s Aryanna Weber was fifth with a 108. Bailey Timm shot 124.
For the boys, the day-one medalist was Sawyer Drent from HLOF/WWG with a 76.
For MLAC, Joey Faber finished the day fourth with an 85. Grant Oakland was sixth with a 92. Devyn Rempel shot a 99 and Layken Marcy had a 100.
RRC was led by Keagan Steen with a 111. Gavin Willardson shot 113, followed by Charles Dammann with 117 and Bode Determan with a 127.
