TUESDAY TRACK: Eagles run at St. Peter

St. Peter Quad

The Windom boys took second and the girls third at the St. Peter Quad, held Tuesday in St. Peter.

The Eagle boys finished tied for second with 132 points. St. Peter won the meet with 197 points.

For the Windom boys, Thomas Green finished first in the 3,200 (10:49.23). Bryan Macario finished first in the 400 (54.96) and the 4×800 relay team of Aaden Nauman, Macario, Green and Eli Bordewyk finished first (9:07.05).

Nauman added runner-up finishes in the 1,600 (5:03.11) and the 300 hurdles (50.28). Jose Rodas was second in the discus (116-8) and shot put (39-6). Job Ogeka was second in the triple jump (38-0). Kevin Blees took second in the long jump (18-8) and third in the 200 (24.56). Eli Freiwald was second in the 110 hurdles (23.74). The team of Ogeka, Bleess, James Erickson and Macario added a runner-up finish in the 4×200 relay (1:39.64).

Windom’s girls were third with 91½ points. St. Peter won the meet with 262-1/3 points.

Individually for the Eagle girls, Elliot Espenson led the way, finishing first in the shot put (36-8½) and discus (95-1) and second in the long jump (14-3¼).

Kaylee Walklin took second in the 800 (2:32.45). Ava Van Norman was second in the 200 (30.09) and third in the 100 (13.70). Haidyn Sammons took third in the 1,600 (6:16.91).

LCWMN Meet

The Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey boys took third and girls fourth at the Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial-Nicollet Meet, held Tuesday in Lake Crystal.

MLAC’s boys scored 78 points. Jackson County Central won the meet with 127.

The MLAC girls finished with 54 points. JCC won the meet with 192.

The Wolverine boys flexed their muscle in the relays. The team of Zach Klassen, Luke Klassen, Ethan Schroeder and Kody Wassman won the 4×800 (8:51.74), while the team of Jordan Linscheid, Preston Xayachak, Dustin Falk and Carter Olson won the 4×400 relay (3:41.99). The team of Linscheid, Alex Karschnik, Evan Karschnik and Xayachak was second in the 4×100 (48.84).

Alex Karschnik added a runner-up finish in the long jump (18-3¼). Wassman took second in the 1,600 (4:52.21). Zach Klassen was third in the 3,200 (11:07.53). Layne Wall was third in the triple jump (38-6).

For the girls, Kearney Wall took second in both the shot put (30-1) and discus (93-9). Meghan Johnson took second in the 3,200 (13:53.48). Lydia Rete was third in the 1,600 (6:18.59). Michala Morin finished third in the high jump (4-7).

Panther II Meet

The Westbrook-Walnut Grove/Red Rock Central boys took eighth and the girls 11th at the Panther II Invite, held Tuesday in Tracy.

WWG/RRC’s boys finished with 45 points. MACCRAY/RCW won the meet with 116 points.

The WWG/RRC girls scored 16½ points. Southwest Christian/Edgerton won the meet with 136.

WWG/RRC’s boys were led by Kole Curry, who placed second in the 100 (11.96) and third in the 200 (24.66). Luke DeSmith added a third-place finish in the 400 (55.98). Bowen Hesse was third in the 110 hurdles (19.17).

For the girls, the top finisher was Abby Wiggins, who placed third in the pole vault (6-6).

Maple River Invite

The Martin County West/Butterfield-Odin girls were fourth and the boys fifth at the Maple River Invitational, held Tuesday in Mapleton.

MCWBO’s girls finished with 81½ points. Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton won the meet with 163.

The Maverick boys scored 84 points. Maple River won the meet with 175.16 points.

The girls were led by runner-up finishes from Lucy Larson in the 100 (14.57) and Kari Matejka in the 400 (1:10.16). Avery Sanders was fourth in the 100 (14.87) and Katie Hartke was fourth in the 1,600 (6:10.22). Ryelynn Forsberg was fourth in the shot put (29-9¾). MCWBO was also second in the 4×800 (11:59.00) and 4×200 (1:59.79).

The Maverick boys were led by Riley Cole and Jamesson Forsberg, who took the top two spots in the 800. Cole finished in 2:15.11, followed by Forsberg in 2:15.67.

Carlos Rodriguez was second in the 1,600 (5:24.54). Ryan Pierson finished second in the 3,200 (10:21.29) with Grant Koehnen third (11:17.29). Kylar Larson was second in the discus (108-7). Max Olson took third in the shot put (40-1¼). MCWBO also won the 4×800 relay (8:55.00).
