The Windom Eagle fastpitch softball team improved to 4-2 for the season Tuesday, sweeping a doubleheader at Redwood Valley by scores of 12-0 and 11-1.
In the opener, the Eagles jumped to the lead with a five-run second inning. Kadyn Paulson was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Camryn Elness and Leah Hauge added RBI singles in the inning.
The Eagles scored twice on wild pitches in the fifth, added a double steal and an error to score a run in the sixth and scored three runs on errors in the seventh.
Paulson had three hits in the win for the Eagles.
Anja Nielsen earned the pitching win, scattering three hits and fanning eight.
In the nightcap, the Eagles got a two-run double from Nielsen and a run-scoring error to take a 3-1 lead in the third inning.
In the fourth, Tristyn Maras hit an RBI single and Hauge had a two-run double.
Windom ended the game in the fifth on a bases-loaded walk to Charlee Huska and a two-run double from Maras.
Maras, Hauge and Elness each had two hits in the win.
Nielsen worked the first four innings to earn the pitching win, allowing four hits and fanning six.

Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey picked up a pair of commanding victories Tuesday, sweeping a pair of games against Heron Lake-Okabena-Fulda and Springfield in Mt. Lake.
In the opener, the Wolverines rolled to an 18-0 victory over HLOF. Freshman pitcher Ashlynn Pfeiffer tossed a no-hitter in her varsity pitching debut, walking four and striking out six.
The Wolverines got on the board in the bottom of the first on RBI singles from Ella Dockter and Kennedie Simon.
In the second, Jaci Tollefson hit an RBI single and scored on an Annika Brinkman sacrifice fly.
The Wolverines put the game away with a 13-run third inning. Alexis Romsdahl hit an RBI double, Dockter hit a two-run single, Simon had a two-run double and Tollefson hit a bases-clearing triple. Brinkman added an RBI single and Brooke Naas and an RBI double.
Tollefson had four hits in the win. Dockter, Simon and Julia Brinkman had two hits each.
In the nightcap against Springfield, the Wolverines did all their damage in the first inning, claiming a 6-1 win.
Annika Brinkman hit an RBI triple, Naas and Simon each hit RBI singles, Thaila Sengchan hit a two-run triple and Julia Brinkman plated a run with a groundout.
Annika Brinkman had three hits in the win. Simon and Sengchan had two hits each.
Simon picked up the pitching win, scattering three hits while walking one and fanning two.

Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove fell behind early and never recovered Tuesday, dropping a 10-3 loss to Murray County Central at Slayton.
The Falcons took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first, scoring on a throwing error and a Sondra Rindfleisch sacrifice fly.
But MCC answered with four runs in the bottom of the second, taking the lead.
RRC/WWG cut the deficit to 4-3 in the fourth inning when Isabella Rentschler scored on a wild pitch.
But the Rebels scored in the fourth and fifth innings, then tacked on four runs in the sixth.
Addeson Jenniges took the pitching loss, allowing 12 hits and seven walks while striking out three.
