The Windom Area School Board approved the hiring for a new PreK-4 principal at WAS at Monday night’s meeting.
The board also heard a proposal from the Des Moines Valley Chapter of Minnesota Deer Hunters Association regarding revitalizing the Environmental Center by ridding the area of invasive grass and planting native wildflowers, along with the reports from administration.
Kristine Flohrs Krafka was hired as the new PreK-4 principal after the district decided to restructure its administration earlier this year for next year. The new middle school principal for next year will be Dane Nielsen and Bryan Joyce will be the high school principal. The district will no longer have assistant principals starting next school year.
Flohrs Krafka was one of six applicants in total and four were interviewed by the committee. She has been an elementary teacher, reading specialist and is currently an instructional coach in Fairmont.
